film

i just got film developed from Kelka pride and my trip to Denver with the parents. I was a little behind. Most of the photos turned out really really grainy, which sucks. But there were a few really great shots. This was my fav:

It's of a sculpture by Claus Oldenburg called "The Big Sweep" that stands outside of the Denver Art Museum.

bffs

After my depressing post below, I decided I'd drive an hour to go see my bff and his bf. It was so much fun. It had been over a month since I had last seen him. We danced around and made videos of us singing songs from grease :)

I <3 them both soooooo much!

rents

my parents surprise visited me this weekend. it was nice. being an only child who lived for 23 years in the same town as her parent's, i'm sort of attached. it had been about a month since i saw them last, which was pretty strange. it was fun, we went to the old market, dundee, and took the dog for a walk around the lake. oh and they came in to the dave's and tipped me big Saturday night :) It was nice to see them, but it seems like every time they leave I get a little home sick :( I just don't have any real close friends here yet that I feel I can just call up whenever I want.

famous

so as many of you, or maybe none of you know, I am currently working as a server for famous daves. our managers have next to no faith in us and keep a thousand servers on each shift, so i usually leave with a maximum of $30, which is pretty much nothing. Today however, I expo-ed for the first time. Expo is where you pull the food down from the kitchen window and match it with tickets, put a muffin on the tray and find someone to take it to the table it goes to. it's pretty easy and instead of getting paid server minimum wage (which is $2.13/hr) you get regular minimum wage PLUS you get tipped out from each server on the clock.

Today, I received $3 bucks from 13 servers which equals $39 dollars (already more than what I would make on a serving shift at lunch) plus i was only there for 2 hours (as opposed to the 5 hours I'm usually on when I serve). That means I made about $27/hour! I NEED to expo like every day!

oh and TIP YOUR SERVERS PEOPLE! (it's not fair that the expo person ends up making more than the servers)

and on that note, a cheer:

EAT THE RIBS, DRINK THE BEER! FAMOUS DAVE'S IS GLAD YOU'RE HERE!
EAT THE RIBS, DRINK THE BEER! FAMOUS DAVE'S IS GLAD YOU'RE HERE!
EAT THE RIBS, DRINK THE BEER! FAMOUS DAVE'S IS GLAD YOU'RE HERE!
WOAH DAVE'S!

camera

oh, my digital camera battery died :(

it's one of those rectangular rechargeable ones that costs like $50 (which i so don't have right now). no more drunk bar pictures for me :( i'm seriously sad.

fall

i love fall.

i was talking with my friend dan the other day, and we both came to the conclusion that we are totally and completely in love with fall. why, you ask? there are many reasons:

• the air is cool and crisp
• it smells nice
• nebraska football
• i can start wearing cute jackets, yet it's still warm enough for me to get by without one.
• falling leaves
• playing games outside
• halloween!
• pumpkin patches
• haunted houses
• it's almost always sunny
• colorful trees :)
• carving pumpkins
• fall fashion (i love the colors and new styles)
• new seasons of tv start :D

**** one thing I don't like about fall: spiders (they are everywhere)
